The Center for Youth Engagement (CYE) is an interdisciplinary effort dedicated to the advancement of successful school and post-school outcomes for underserved and at-risk youth. Faculty working with CYE currently collaborate with Springfield Public Schools and Amherst Pelham Regional Schools, and with the Hampden County District Attorney, the Holyoke Housing Authority, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holyoke, and others through the Holyoke Shannon Initiative to reduce gang and youth violence. The Center will contribute to the current UMass Amherst mission to build and foster relationships within Springfield and neighboring communities.
