Submission Guidelines for Doctoral Dissertations May 2014 - current
What are my options for restricting the release of my dissertation via ScholarWorks?
You have two options:
- You may restrict access to members of the UMass community for one year or five years by selecting either "Campus-Only Access for One (1) Year" or "Campus-Only Access for Five (5) Years" from the Document Access Control drop-down menu. The title and abstract of your dissertation will still display in ScholarWorks, but the content of your dissertation will not be available to view or download. However, non-UMass community members can still request access to your dissertation via interlibrary loan.
- You may choose an embargo period of six months to one year from the Embargo Expiration drop-drown menu. The title and abstract of your dissertation will still display in ScholarWorks, but no one will be able to view or download your dissertation until the embargo expires.
If you have questions regarding the submission guidelines or due dates, please contact the Graduate School directly. Guidelines can be found at http://www.umass.edu/gradschool/current-students.
