Description
Despite more than a decade of experience with dam removals for ecological and social benefits, the practice of stream barrier removal continues to emerge. This paper focuses on learning experiences gained from selected dam removal projects in Western Pennsylvania, distilling take-home messages about how project selection, pre-planning, site investigations, and adaptabililty during construction can help to maximize project outcomes, increase cost-effectiveness, and anticipate and minimize construction difficulties.

In addition to these, Bob specializes in wetlands identification and delineation, botanical surveys, instream habitat enhancements, bioengineered bank stabilization, and design, construction and monitoring for Abandoned Mine Drainage mitigation projects.
