Summary

First paragraph: Initial studies on the mortality of fingerling fish passing from a submerged high-velocity jet into relatively calm water were recently conducted in the fingerling research facility at the North Pacific Division Hydraulic Laboratory. These tests were made with a velocity of 57.5 fps issuing from a six-inch nozzle. This velocity and method approximate conditions planned for bypassing fingerling fish at Wynoochee Dam.
