Summary

First paragraph: This report presents data obtained during a continuation of tests on fingerling fish as outlined in the program established by Messrs. Mains, Oligher, Donaldson, Bell, and Laboratory personnel. Phase 2 of the test program was to determine whether shear forces caused mortality in fingerling fish [...] high-velocity jet of water. Initial tests, Report No. 1, dated 20 August 1970, indicated jet velocities of 57.5 fps were not fast enough to cause mortality to coho salmon fingerlings (7 to 8 inches long) or chinook salmon fingerlings (5 to 7 inches long).
