From introduction: The primary objective of this study is to establish base line data on the resident fish species complex including growth rate, food habits, relative abundance, and population dynamics in the Connecticut River between Turners Falls dam and the Vernon dam prior to the operation of Northfield Mountain Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Plant. Fish were sampled using gill nets, rotenne, fyke nets, and electro-fishing gear. Nine fish sampling stations were chosen. Food habits of yellow perch, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and walleye were analyzed.
