Summary

This report is prepared as a working guide for Forest Biologists and Engineers who are confronted with the practical problems of providing fish passage through or over both natural and artificial structures in streams. Useful material has been selected from the various reference sources and combined to form a simplified source of information for the California Region. Perhaps the most frequently used portion of this report will be Table 4 on page 38 which serves as a quick reminder of the essential steps in providing fish passage at road crossings of streams.
