Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the research model and explore the antecedents and consequences of two emotional labor strategies (i.e., surface acting and deep acting). Organization characters, individual attributes, and interaction expectation (frequency, variety, intensity and duration of emotional expression) are predictors of fine dining service providers’ acting strategies. Managerial implications for restaurant operators are discussed.
