Attribution, Usage, and Privacy Policies
Reproduction, posting, transmission, or other distribution or use of any article (manuscript) in any form or medium from this website is permitted only for personal use unless an exemption is approved by written agreement from the Board of Editors. Any other use of the material on this web site, except for citations, requires credit to The American Council of Medicinally Active Plants as the copyright holder. Users of the ScholarWorks@UMass Amherst website and/or software agree not to misuse the website service or software in any way. All materials published through the Journal of Medicinally Active Plants are available free of charge to any interested party. The Editorial Board trusts that such open access will support a more extensive exchange of research and knowledge regarding issues related to all aspects of medicinally active plants.
The following uses of manuscripts accepted and published by the Journal of Medicinally Active Plants are always permitted to the author(s) of said manuscripts and do not require permission from the American Council of Medicinally Active Plants, provided the author does not alter the format or content of the articles, including copyright notification:
- Storing a copy of the of the manuscript on the a computer(s) and digital media (such as diskettes, back-up servers, zip disks, or other electronic storage devices), provided that the stored manuscript on these computers and/or media is not readily accessible by persons other than the author(s);
- Posting of the article on the author(s) personal website, provided that the website is non-commercial;
- Posting of the article on the internet as part of a non-commercial open access institutional repository or other non-commercial open access publication site affiliated with the author(s)’s place of employment; and
- Posting of the article on a non-commercial course website for a course being taught by the author at the university or college employing the author.
Email addresses and other personal information is collected for internal use only. No personal information, including email addresses, will be shared with outside parties.
The failure of the American Council of Medicinally Active Plants or Officers of the Council, Board of Editors, or Executive Editors, or the Council Treasurer or ScholarWorks@UMass Amherst to exercise or enforce any right or provision in the policies or the Manuscript Submission Agreement does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any term of the Manuscript Submission Agreement or these policies is found to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties’ intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Manuscript Submission Agreement and that these policies remain in full force and effect. These policies and the Manuscript Submission Agreement constitute the entire agreement between the American Council for Medicinally Active Plants, Council Officers and others listed above and ScholarWorks@UMass Amherst and the manuscript author(s) regarding submission of the article.
