The Center for Agriculture, Food and the Environment addresses environmental conservation and water resource issues through the Water Resources Research Center and the the work of UMass Extension faculty and staff. The Water Resources Research Center encourages an interdisciplinary approach to resolving state and regional water problems and has involved the University system and many other Massachusetts colleges and universities in its research. UMass Extension's work in environmental conservations is focused on the protection of ecosystem integrity, water resources, biodiversity and energy resources through research and educational programs in public policy and the development and implementation of tools and policies for environmental protection, land use and resource conservation.
