In the following section, I will take a general and theoretical approach to discuss the respective roles of architecture and landscape elements in the development of the natural landscape by human society, both in our present context and in its ongoing evolution. I will then explore the levels and types of relationships between architectural and landscape components of the townscape, as well as their impact on the organization, characteristics, street life, and overall quality of the urban landscape. Finally, I will examine some of the key issues that arise from the interaction between architecture and landscape within the townscape.
