ADVANCE research at UMass highlights the important connection between spatial resources and professional relationships. This tool summarizes research that brings attention to the ways physical infrastructures and interaction strategies may be harnessed in order to foster inclusive community, advance equity, and support professional well-being. It should be reviewed and discussed in conjunction with the UMass ADVANCE Spatial Contexts Audit Tool, to inform a simple, structured assessment and incremental improvement of the spatial contexts of faculty work.
