From introduction: Broad facets of this study include angler success through creel census, the fish population complex, invertebrate community, and water chemistry parameters in the Turners Falls pool, or lower reservoir for the pumped-storage hydroelectric facility. Initial invertebrate population collections and fishery investigations were conducted on the upper reservoir on Northfield Mountain in 1972. In the next progress report biological data on the upper reservoir will be added as a separate section. It should be recognized clearly that this is a progress report. Any conclusions or inferences herein should be regarded as preliminary and tentative, and subject to revision as more data are collected and evaluated.
