The authors designed pool-type fishway and overflow weirs with hidings for fish. This fishway is in middle courses of the Miya River. This riverside road is famous for 'Asaichi' market. Design concepts are as follows: (1) When the floods wash away fish, after floods fish can migrate and get under the hidings, (2) This river rectification project is very suitable for Takayama city's landscape. After river rectification works, it was confirmed that many fish went up to upstream through the fishway and fish washed away in the flood time decreased.
