Abstract
Summary: This paper is based on passage of juvenile salmon and trout through orifices in a turbine bypass system developed at McNary Dam in 1968. These orifices were successful in passing young salmon and steelhead trout from the gatewells into the ice and trash sluiceway and then into the tailrace of the dam (Bentley and Raymond 1969).
