Abstract
The production capability of anadromous fish streams in the Bureau of Land Management's Eugene District, Oregon, is well below potential as a result of the loss of large woody debris. District managers placed 395 structures made of wood, rock, and gabions to restructure selected streams to restore part of the production potential. The fate and success of structures of different designs and materials are discussed in the paper. All types of structures improved aquatic habitat by changing channel characteristics, substrate composition, and availability of habitat features used by juvenile salmonids.
