Abstract
SUNY OER Services (SOS) supports creation, adaption, and adoption of open educational resources (OER) and teaching with open pedagogy in the State University of New York System. Analyzing data from enrollment in OER courses since 2017, we uncovered significant contributions to student outcomes from instructors selecting OER for their courses. Drawing from data across SUNY campuses, we present evidence of how use of OER positively impacts student outcomes. Specifically, we explore instances of course and campus programmatic assessment activities. At an aggregated level, the presentation delves into broader implications, showcasing reduced time to degree attainment and heightened graduation or transfer rates through the implementation of OER Degree Pathways on SUNY campuses. Case studies provide insights into the strategic use of statistical analyses illustrating the practical applications of affordable learning materials within the educational context.
