Seasonal and Diurnal Shifts in Habitat Utilized by Resident Rainbow Trout in Western Washington Cascade Mountain Streams

Snorkel observations of resident rainbow trout during feeding, resting, and refuge conditions, and observed seasonal and diurnal habitat shifts in cool mountain streams are discussed herein. The effects upon development of physical habitat suitability criteria and upon stream flow modifications are addressed.
