Efforts to address fish and wildlife issues associated with small scale hydroelectric power development are summarized for the Pacific Northwest, and Oregon in particular. Trends in project proposals, legislation, and resource agency activities are described. Examples of suitable and unsuitable projects and installations where fish and wildlife problems have been encountered are discussed.
