Abstract
Today, project development or redevelopment requires careful assessment of all environmental implications. One continuing problem that the hydro industry faces are impacts to fish who travel downstream through turbines. The Electric Power Research Institute recognizes this as a high priority concern and contracted Eicher Associates to review the available research to determine possible approaches to minimize turbine mortality. The results of this survey shed new light on this difficult problem.
