Abstract
Small hydro plant designers can choose from among a range of effective fish screen types. Which you choose will probably be determined not by one type's inherent superiority, but rather by site-specific factors such as geology and water velocity. The four screen types discussed here all have advantages and disadvantages which are largely dependent on local conditions.
