Session Title
Management Software for OER Projects
Session Abstract
LibreTexts has created software for management of OER projects. It can be used by individuals, teams, or institutions to build and manage OER. LibreTexts runs the Conductor on its own server that anyone can use without charge, or they can get the software from Github and run their own. version.
OER has special requirements for project management software. Beyond communication and scheduling (timelines are available as Gantt plots or calendars) which are found in general project management systems, Conductor allows storage and access to adoption reports, peer review and accessibility compliance as well as ancillary materials such as presentation decks. Analytics allows instructors to explore measurements of students' interactions with LibreTexts open access content and the ADAPT online homework system. The Analytics can be used to gauge understanding of course content and identify potential areas of improvement for individual students and classes in general.
Objectives of the Session
- Introduce LibreTexts' OER project software which can be used by all for all OER projects

At LibreTexts every book has a Project page in the Conductor which shows how the book was created, the team working on it and other details which are not found in the book itself. Projects have Leaders, Members and Project Liaisons from the central Libretexts team. Messages are stored and can be referred to later. This is especially useful when new people join and for ongoing curation.
Collections of books can be linked for teams or institutions. LibreTexts Network members have their own collections which are managed by their campus administrator. LibreTexts also uses the Conductor for group activities such as preparing for workshops.
Presenter Bios
Josh Halpern is a retired Professor of Chemistry at Howard University who has been working with LibreTexts since 2014. He also liaises with Prince George's Community College in Maryland on their OER projects.
