Abstract
The present theoretical understanding of nuclear parity nonconservation is assesssed. Using the quark model to calculate weak couplings and empirical values obtained in s-d nuclei we determine sin2thetaw=0.33±0.19. Unfortunately, the error bars here are purely statistical and do not include a substantial ``systematic'' uncertainty associated with the theory.
