SIMON</strong></p> <p>Dr. Nicolas P. Simon is an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Criminology, and Social Work at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic Connecticut. His major research interests include Sociology of Higher Education, First-Generation College Students, Community Service, Open Educational Resources, Open Pedagogy, and Sociological Theories. Dr. Simon holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree from Université de Caen in France.</p> <p><strong>Isabella Cruz</strong></p> <p>My name is Bella Cruz and I am a junior at Eastern Connecticut State University with a double major in Early childhood education and Sociology. I am a part of the ECSU cheer team, I work on campus during the school year and am a manager at a summer camp outside of the school year, while still being a full-time student as well.</p> <p>My future goals is to become a special education teacher and in my later years hopefully come back to ECSU and teach sociology to the next generation of students.</p> <p><strong>Tyler S. Fairbanks.</strong><strong></strong></p> <p>My name is Tyler S. Fairbanks. Studying Sociology at Eastern, I aim to work others to construct a better world than the one I was born in. To do so, I would like to take on the barriers within the systems that govern our lives. Currently, I work as a SOAR Benefits Specialist helping people apply for disability benefits to remedy financial barriers. Open Pedagogy is yet another invaluable tool to fixing another key system in our nation: the educational system.</p> <h4><strong>Kiyana-Nicole Smith</strong></h4> <p>Kiyana-Nicole Smith (she, they) is a junior at Eastern Connecticut State University, studying Sociology. Kiyana-Nicole shares her joy and time through campus involvement. Volunteering in the community may help her finalize what age group she would like to teach. Kiyana-Nicole is passionate about people and helping them in any way she can.</p>INTRODUCTION: 5 minutes In the introduction, we will explain the origin of the project and state our standpoint on Artificial intelligence. PART 1 DESCRIBING THE WORK: 10 minutes Starting with our research question based on the connection between Artificial Intelligence, OER, and OER-enabled pedagogy, we will describe how we manage the project. PART 2 – OUR FINDINGS: 10 minutes Then, we will present our findings on the benefits, concerns, and challenges of connecting Artificial Intelligence, OER, and OER-enabled pedagogy. PART 3 – SELF REFLECTION: 10 minutes Finally, we will share the questions, concerns, ideas, and thoughts which came to our mind during the project. PART 4 – Q&A: 15 minutes We will respond to the questions of the audience and invite participants to assess, develop, or change their opinion on the relationship between Artificial Intelligence, OER, and OER-enabled pedagogy. This Q&A will help us to improve our own standpoint and self-reflection on this inquisitive journey.In this session, an educator and his students will discuss the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Open Educational Resources. In the introduction, we will explain what encouraged us to discuss this topic and state our standpoint on the topic. In the first part of the presentation, we will explain the nature of the project. We will explain how we did it. Then we will present our findings on the benefits of using Artificial Intelligence in the creation of OER.
