Water We Doing? - Documentary

Abstract

The documentary “Water We Doing?” examines water consumption at UMass Amherst. The film links deficient water conservation to the lack of water consciousness in larger communities and illustrates that this disconnect puts the world at risk. Using a critical lens, the film prods the campus administration to create sustainable water policies by highlighting campus achievements in infrastructure and social initiatives. However, these achievements fall short of effective water conservation. Because climate change increases the likelihood of future droughts, interviews with local experts identify measures that can be readily adopted. The film concludes that a greater understanding of water conservation practices lessen the risk of future water crisis within our environment and global community.
