Junior Political Science Major Ruth Tony-Alabi is putting herself out there. Having transferred from Curry College – a small school outside of Boston – Ruth pushed herself to attend events, email professors, and join in random conversations. The result? She understood herself better as a learner, connected with a Nigerian-American community at UMass and made her home at UMass.
