Dr. Surya Poudel recently received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. His research interests include human-environment interactions in tourism systems, common-pool resources, sustainable tourism, environmental education, and management of protected areas. His current research focuses on diagnosis of sustainable tourism in protected area-based tourism systems using social-ecological systems approach.

Dr. Gyan Nyaupane is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in the School of Community Resources and Development at Arizona State University. His overarching research theme includes the interactions between the environment, culture and tourism, particularly in the arenas of nature-based/ecotourism/sustainable tourism and heritage tourism.
