Valerie Sheppard, PhD (ABD): Valerie’s Simon Fraser University based doctoral research focuses on identifying the factors shaping resilience in resort destination governance systems, particularly in response to exogenous shocks and stressors. Her research interests also include the role of ethics in sustainability practice. She is an instructor at Royal Roads University and the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

Dr. Peter Williams: Peter is a Professor in the School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University. His research focuses primarily on the planning, development and management of more sustainable forms of tourism development. He is an Honorary Lifetime Member of the International Travel and Tourism Research Association and a Fellow of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism.
