Modular Lie algebras and their representations

Dmitriy Rumynin, University of Massachusetts Amherst

Abstract

In this thesis we study representation theory of Lie algebras in positive characteristic. We develop an algebraic formalism that produces reduced enveloping algebras. Restricting our attention to the case of a classical semisimple Lie algebra, we explicitly compute the reduced enveloping algebra at a regular functional. Finally, we introduce a geometric machinery producing representations.
