| dc.description.abstract | Wild Imminence is a series of prose poems taking the form of Deleuze and Guattari's Rhizomeengaging notions of destratification and lines of flight in a consciousness of place, queerness, language, intimacy, and the internal and external world as both ever fleeting and imbued with interlocking echoes. In this book, the idea of home is explored as a slippage of naming; referents that may signal belonging remain in flight. As such, the prose poems depart from one another and through theme, object and language alight again in systematic reverberation, reflecting both the desire to return to and impossibility to remain at terra ferma. Engaging color theory, Deleuze, ethnographic accounts of political violence and displacement, and the narrator's own experiences of love, family, and observations of a world in flux, struggling to be reborn, the poems are find ground in their own instability: that which is known can only be known in flight. | |
