dc.description.abstract	The Tourism industry in Asia is booming with casinos, attractions and integrated resorts opening up in the next decade. Being a labour-intensive industry, the issue of human resource development is significant as there is not a shortage of manpower but an acute shortage of trained manpower. This paper addresses the human resource strategies that can be adapted to alleviate the shortage of trained manpower. These strategies form part of the integrated plan covering tourism development overall in three countries mainly Singapore, Macau, China and Thailand.
