Abstract
This thesis investigates a collection of PONI- block- co - polymers to effectively evaluate the pH responsiveness of PONI-D-(b)-MT against in vitro biofilms. The study focuses on varying the molecular weight of these polymers and comparing the antimicrobial efficacy of two essential oils, eugenol and carvacrol. By creating and analyzing nanoemulsions, this research aims to determine the potential of these pH-responsive polymers as antimicrobial agents against biofilms. The results demonstrate the significant impact of polymer molecular weight and essential oil type on the antimicrobial activity of the nanoemulsions. This introductory analysis provides valuable insights into the development of novel, targeted antimicrobial treatments for biofilm-related infections using pH-responsive polymer systems.
