Summary: This paper reviews the design of the fish conserving intake system for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station at San Onofre, CA. This paper follows the design effort from Edison's early velocity cap experiments, through recent fish behavioral studies to the final design of the San Onofre intake system.
