Abstract
None. Summary: Efforts by state and federal agencies to mitigate fish losses have been in progress since the mid-1800's in the form of fishing regulations, stocking programs, and construction of fish passage facilities. The purpose of this paper is to review the decline of anadromous fish following the construction of dams, and the subsequent fish restoration efforts. The latter focuses primarily on the results achieved after the construction of fish passage facilities.
