Landscapes in the City: Places of Memory, Opportunities for the Future

The International Meeting on Urban Cultural Landscapes is organized with the aim of stimulating the debate on the concept of green historic heritage as an essential part of the urban landscape. The Meeting also aims to stimulate debate on such complex issues as landscapes and the city, heritage and sustainability, urban development and conservation of the historical green heritage, heritage and SDGs.

Madrid wants to join in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the UNESCO Convention for the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage and 30 years since the Cultural Landscape category appeared in the Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of World Heritage. The meeting would be part of UNESCO’s programme entitled The Next 50: World Heritage as a Source of Resilience, Humanity and Innovation on the future of heritage
