Undergraduate Advising (the advising office for undeclared students at UMass Amherst) offers a Transfer Seminar designed to help incoming transfer students more successfully transition to UMass. This one-credit, pass/fail course covers topics such as how to navigate our student information system, find student clubs, make connections on campus, and explore majors/minors and internships. This presentation will provide a jumping-off point for advisors, faculty, staff, and administrators who are interested in establishing a transfer seminar at their own institutions or incorporate aspects of our seminar into the work they are already doing with transfer students.
