Abstract

None supplied. From introduction: Recently, an effort is underway to restore the shad and Atlantic salmon migration to its natural extent. The restoration of the migration requires that fish passage facilities be constructed at Turners Falls Dam, the associated Cabot Power Station, Vernon Dam, Bellows Falls Dam, and Wilder Dam. This paper presents results from four hydraulic models that provided hydraulic information and optimization of proposed fish passage facilities, which are designed to pass approximately 850,000 shad and 40,000 salmon. The model studies were conducted for the Turners Falls and Vernon Dam Fishways.
