Concurrent Sessions - Finding the Footholds: An Orientation and One - credit Course for Community College Transfers in STEM at a Selective Liberal Arts College

Abstract
Community college students transferring to four-year institutions to major in science or mathematics negotiate many transitions. Here we describe a one-credit course and customized orientation to help these students successfully navigate intense upper-level STEM courses and pursue professional experiences that could launch a career in STEM.
